The purpose of this article is not to setup your email client on your personal computer, but to configure the scripts that allow your webmail to work seamlessly with your email client.
You can find and enable the auto configuration for your email client via your Personal Control Panel: Services > My Services > Hosting Plan > Email Accounts > Setup Mail Client.
However, the available options may not be compatible with your application. If that is the case, you will need to use the Manual Settings information.
Inphase recommends using the Secure SSL and IMAP settings:
- Username: The email address for the account being configured
- Password: The email account's password
- Incoming Server: webserver32.turnkeywebspace.com
- IMAP Port: 993
- Outgoing Server: webserver32.turnkeywebspace.com
- SMTP Port: 465
- Authentication: Required for both IMAP and SMTP
IMAP email access coordinates between the server and your mail application. Messagess that have been read/deleted/replied to will show up as such, both on the server and in the mail client.
POP3 (Plain Old Postoffice) is used to receive incomming mail. It does not coordinate with the server. Messages marked as read/deleted/replied to in the mail client will not show up as such on the server. This means that a deleted email on your client is not deleted from the server. And if you have read an email message and later download it again from the server, it will show as unread.
SMTP (Send Message To Post office) is used to send outgoing mail.
SSL/TLS is the security for your interactions with the remote server.
